Abounding grace.

“And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”

This is the first genuine example of Romans 5: 20 “Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:” in the Bible. How remarkable that it should come on the same day that sin entered into the world. This gives us a remarkable understanding of God’s grace; it was ready and prepared for the day that sin entered into the world. We must take pains to affirm that God is no way responsible for or complicit in sin. He is completely consistent and in grace has offered the ability to choose to enjoy His love, however, He always gives us what we choose, even though He may give us the fruit of our choice slowly so that we have the chance to change our minds.

All this is completely just as God has also dealt with all the legal aspects relating to sin by paying the full penalty Himself. All we have to do is take advantage of His grace and enjoy His goodness. It is high time we all stopped eating from the self indulgence tree and begin enjoying the full fruit of the self denial tree. The main question that we should all ask is, “How big is my God?” Is He big enough to do everything or is He so small that I need to help Him? if your God is that small get rid of him and follow the true God Who doesn’t need any help from us at all.
