Every wise hearted man

Exodus 36: 8-13, “And every wise hearted man among them that wrought the work of the tabernacle made ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: with cherubims of cunning work made he them. The length of one curtain was twenty and eight cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: the curtains were all of one size. And he coupled the five curtains one unto another: and the other five curtains he coupled one unto another. And he made loops of blue on the edge of one curtain from the selvedge in the coupling: likewise he made in the uttermost side of another curtain, in the coupling of the second. Fifty loops made he in one curtain, and fifty loops made he in the edge of the curtain which was in the coupling of the second: the loops held one curtain to another. And he made fifty taches of gold, and coupled the curtains one unto another with the taches: so it became one tabernacle.”
The Tabernacle was holy and the people needed to be protected from that holy place. When Moses was meeting with God on the mountain he was told that no one should go near the mountain for if anyone touched the mountain they would have to be stoned. (See Ex 19: 13, “There shall not an hand touch it, but he shall surely be stoned, or shot through;”) The Tabernacle had to be moved and the Lord showed His presence by the pillar of cloud. If anyone came near the Tabernacle they would be have to be killed and if anyone saw the sacred things they would be killed as well. There were curtains to separate the camp from the holy precinct and there were curtains to cover the Tabernacle so that no one would look on the holy things accidentally. The curtains also had to be transported so they were made to be taken apart into manageable portions and put together again.
