The Lord commanded

Leviticus 8: 31-35, “And Moses said unto Aaron and to his sons, Boil the flesh at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and there eat it with the bread that is in the basket of consecrations, as I commanded, saying, Aaron and his sons shall eat it. And that which remaineth of the flesh and of the bread shall ye burn with fire. And ye shall not go out of the door of the tabernacle of the congregation in seven days, until the days of your consecration be at an end: for seven days shall he consecrate you. As he hath done this day, so the LORD hath commanded to do, to make an atonement for you. Therefore shall ye abide at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation day and night seven days, and keep the charge of the LORD, that ye die not: for so I am commanded. So Aaron and his sons did all things which the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses.”
This section is full of instructions about various kinds of offerings and sacrifices. It was very important for Israel as they travelled in the desert and later when the came into the Promised Land. However, the Tabernacle and the Temple no longer exist today so there is no way that all the ceremonial offerings and sacrifices can be carried out these days. However, at the end of the section we see that Aaron and his sons did all things which the Lord commanded by the hand of Moses. This is the most important part for people reading this passage today. The next question that we have to face is what is the Lord commanding us to do? This is a big question and many books have been written about to find the Lord’s will for my life. In fact, we already know many of the things that the Lord would have us to do in our daily lives. The first is: pray-(see Luke 18: 1, “And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;”) the second is: meditate-(see
Josh 1: 8, “ This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”) This is not the transcendental kind of meditation where you try to empty your mind and get into some kind of trance for an empty mind is an empty vessel waiting for the devil (see Matt 12: 44, 45, “Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.”) The command that the Lord gave Joshua was to fill his mind with all the positive things that can be found in the Word of God. The third is: love one another-(see John 13: 35, “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.”) If you make an effort to do these things, which constitute about 95% of the Lord;’s will for every Christian, then
you will have a sense of the peace of God that passes all understanding as the guiding light of you life. (see Phil 4: 6-8, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”)
