Come into the ark.

“And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation. Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth. For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.”

Noah did what the Lord commanded and now it was time for him to experience the consequences of his action. He spent 100 years building an ark and now it was time for him to take the ecological basis of the future along with his the chosen family line into the ark so that the world would be punished for the sin that had taken complete hold of everything apart from Noah’s family. We must remember that animals do not sin because they were not made in God’s own image and did not have the ability to choose to enjoy God’s love. Even with the animals God’s wisdom and grace is evident. The clean animals are animals that can be eaten and offered in sacrifice so God made allowance for these animals to be available in abundance after the Flood. God told Noah that it was going to rain but Noah had never seen or heard of rain before. In those days the earth was watered by a mist that came over the land. However Noah believed God in this respect as well. Thus Noah and his family were saved.
