This book of the Law.

“And Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him.”

There is a huge difference in outcomes when people do what the Lord commands them to do. When a person goes against the Lord’s command they follow a pathway that leads to death while if they do what the Lord commands they follow a pathway that leads to life. The Lord Jesus Christ said, in John 17: 4, “I have glorified thee on earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.” At this time He was saying that He had completed everything that was required for the establishment of the church was complete and all the people were as trained as they could be before His death and resurrection. We can learn from this that doing what the Lord commands leads to more than just life for the individual who does what the Lord commands, it also leads to life for other people as well. In Noah’s case his obedience lead to life for every person that believes on the Lord Jesus Christ and is saved. In Christ’s case the outcome was exactly the same. For everyone else there is also a way that leads to life for themselves as well as others.

This leads to the question, “How do I know what God’s will is for my life?” For everyone about 99% of God’s will for their life is the same as 99% of God’s will for everyone else’s life. The Lord said to Joshua, after he took over from Moses, “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” (Josh 1: 8) In Proverbs 3: 6 we read, “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” If we do these two things then we will never be in doubt as to what God has commanded us and our lives will lead to life for ourselves and others.
