Giving the best

(The view expressed in this blog are my own and should not be taken as inspired in any way.)
“And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes upon the hearth. And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetcht a calf tender and good, and gave it unto a young man; and he hasted to dress it. And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat.”
There are time when people send support to missionaries but they only send their secondhand items. I have seen cases where people have sent used teabags to missionaries. Apart from the fact that we do to the Lord Jesus Christ (Matt 25: 40) whatever we do to the least of His servants we need to remember that each time we entertain or give to people working in Christian work we might just be doing entertaining angels. On the other hand, Abraham and Sarah gave the best that they had to the strangers that came to visit. This is the right approach for any person who is Christian. It doesn’t matter if that person is a refugee or an outcast from society, we are to give them the best that we can rather than the leftovers.
