“And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.” First there were birds and the water creatures but on the sixth day the Lord made the land creatures. The progression fits with the first three days; first there was water and then the firmament was separated and lastly the land was set aside. God had His own pattern and He followed according to His own wisdom. The same is true today, God has His own patterns and plans and He follows them in His own way. God really doesn’t need any people to make sure that His will works for good in all things for those the believe God and are called according to His purpose. Once again we are reminded how important it is for us to have the correct perspective towards God. He is supreme in all things and it is proper for Christians to accept His greatness. This is not the proper time to wonder what God means to me for that puts me in the centre and God in my orbit. This is the time to be amazed at the greatness of our God and rejoice in the fact that He loves us even though He doesn’t need us.
