“And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let
it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.” The second day was similar to the first day. There was an evening and a morning but the process of establishing the earth so that people could live on it went on. The firmament was called heaven and the water sources were defined so that the essentials for life could be ready for the life that was coming in a few days time. This section allows for the massive creation that God made even though it concentrates on the earth for this story is about the earth and the relationship that the people of the earth can have with their God. The important thing for us to remember is the size of our God and to submit to Him.
