Psalm 20:1–5, “The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee; Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion; Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah. Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel. We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfil all thy petitions.”

Everyone has bad days and good days but sometimes we have disastrous days. David prayed for disastrous days. He prayed that the Lord would hear any who pray to the Lord and believe in Him. When the Lord hears a person’s prayer, He just doesn’t acknowledge that the person has prayed, He actually does something. God only does good things so when the Lord hears someone who believes in Him, He acts for the good of that person. David also prayed that the Lord would remember that he believed in the Lord. He showed his belief in the Lord in his behaviour. He loved the Lord so he did what the Lord asked him to do. When the Lord acts for those who believing in Him there is always a time for rejoicing and giving thanks.
